We have teamed up with a local charity to offer you an opportunity to engage in authentic & meaningful encounters with small communities.
Each experience is genuine, each impact is positive. You can be involved for an hour or two or a full week if time allows.
Impact Escapes are committed to working with local operators in the regions we visit to ensure we benefit local communities.
At present our programme for volunteering in Sri Lanka is diverse. Join in reforestation efforts, help with stray dogs, lend a hand to build a school or a home.
Our Impact Escapes team is committed to eco-tourism and conscious travel.
We are working with ethical and environmentally-responsible operators who recognise, like us, that this world is very special and not to be exploited by irresponsible travel.
We actively seek operators who are protecting wildlife, ecosystems, historic sites and respecting culture.
We have made a commitment to explore UNESCO World Heritage sites with respect. We educate our guests on the local customs and give them the relevant information.
We are managing to reduce the consumption of single use plastic water bottles.
All travellers with us are given re-usable bottles.
This allows refilling from filtered water stations at your accommodation (where available) and to purchase larger containers of water to refill through the trip.
We take our guests on experiences off the beaten path where you can see the efforts that are going into empowering locals in small communities.
Visiting these educational and recycling facilities is a way of giving resources to locals.
Our animal encounters are in the WILD. We play by the wildlife rules…. sometimes we spot them easily, other times they take us on an a hide & seek adventure!
